Types Of Brief (LO2)

A Contractual Brief is a legal document which is created between an employee and a client. The layout of a contractual brief is very easy and clear to read, allowing the client to complete their details without confusion.

A Negotiated brief is where the media company may possibly have a disagreement or a possible issue with the assignment/brief that they have been given and then negotiate with the client on how they can work their way around it while still sticking to the guidelines of the brief.

Tender Briefing means a meeting (the details for which are specified in the Reference Schedule) that may be held by or on behalf of the Agency to provide information about the RFT (Request for tender) and the Tendering Process.

Another type of brief is a formal brief. This is a brief given by the client that informs the producer of all of the details of the task and the rules they need to follow.
Informal Brief Content and Format. The clerk provides an informal brief form that asks the appellant to identify the issues and facts supporting the appeal. Use of the form is not mandatory, and the parties may file a memorandum addressing the issues on appeal.
Commissioning. brief. A document or presentation that sets out the commissioner's vision and requirements for the programme/strand/slot/batch that is open to proposals from suppliers.
